I do love a good texture. Lurex, suede, leather, PVC; yes, yes, yes and yes. I’ll take it. Not usually all at once however, but in this case I really enjoy the mix. Colour palette wise it’s safe (space boots aside lolz), therefore texture wise I went all out, and we all know how obsessed I am with this patent mac so obvs it had to feature (cue 2435 ways to wear the Alexa mac of dreams). ‘High-waist mini skirt and roll neck’ is basically my standard winter go-to but do not be fooled by the seemingly simplistic combo - there are SO many different options of how-to!
I got this skirt and roll neck last year and probably still love them just as much as I did upon purchase (the savvy investment shopper that I am). The space boots were an eBay purchase and I feel like I’ve been looking for the perfect silver boot all of my life. Ok, slight exaggeration but seriously I have been on a silver boot quest for longer than I care to admit. Far before they actually became a ‘thing’ which made my life a whole lot easier, alas not complete. I must have had about ten pairs pass through my wardrobe in the last decade and currently own three pairs. I feel like the perfect pair slipped through my fingers in the form of an & Other Stories pair I only ever saw from afar (online) as they sold out before I could get my little mitts on them. Now these little metallic numbers are delightful don’t get me wrong, and pretty darn dreamy as far as the silver boot goes, but the perfectionist inside of me is still not 100% satisfied *emoji monkey*, more of a current boyfriend let’s say as opposed to the love of my life. They are a little too high on the ankle I feel, and actually a size too big for me if I’m being honest, but hey, they’re pretty snazzy for the time being - Mr. right now we’ll call them. The quest for Mr. right of the silver ankle boot world continues (I love it really, give me a fashion finding challenge any day of the week)! Anyway, tangent rambling aside, I think they look delightful with a fishnet tight and finish off this ensemble perfectly. I feel very Sixties, which is always a good thing.
