NYC: New Year and My Fave Spots

I spent an amazing week in New York over new year with some pals and Brett, and wasn’t going to write a post following the trip as I was there in March and did a reccie post then for you, however I had SUCH a good time and discovered so many more places that I couldn't not share! So I've put a quick round up together for you with everything to see, shop, do, eat and drink. I also took loads of film photos that I love whilst I was there and so wanted to share them with you guys too. I feel like we really squeezed so much into this trip and as one of my best friends lives in Brooklyn she knows all the good places!

So, i'm going to break everything up, as usual with my city guides, into categories so it's a super easy reference for you and if you're just interested in where to eat for example then you can get straight to it.

WHERE TO EAT

Joe's Pizza - The best pizza in NYC (maybe even the world) hands down.

Kings county Imperial - Honestly the best meal I had while I was in New York. You absolutely need to order the squid - a taste sensation!

The Wild Son - A very good brunch spot that we stumbled upon in the Meatpacking District.

Five leaves - a very good brunch spot in Brooklyn

Rubi Rosa - Last time I went to NYC I said that this was the best meal i've ever had (I hadn't has Kings Co. at this point lol)

Cafe Mogador - Moroccan inspired cafe, we went for breakie and it was delish

Shelter - cosy vibes and great pizza

The Butchers Daughter - A very good plant based cafe and juice bar in BK

WHERE TO DRINK

The Wythe - Go to Lemon's rooftop bar there at sunset on a clear day - magical. They also have a cocktail called Tiny Dancer, sold.

Dive Bars - Skinny Dennis, Rocka Rolla, Extra Fancy and Golden Years in Brooklyn are all so good!

Lions Milk Coffee - Very, very good coffee.

Brooklyn Winery - It's a winery so obviously the wine is amazing and they gave us a little tour of the place too which was lovely. They hold events and weddings there which is really cool and they also have a great happy hour which is also really cool.

WHERE TO SHOP

10ft Single by Stella Dallas - A new discovery of mine, full to the brim with amazing vintage at v. reasonable prices

Beacons Closet - IMO the best vintage shop in Brooklyn, so so many treasures to be discovered and super cheap too!

Glossier - Amazing! A must visit if you're in NYC (although I know we have a pretty cool one in London rn too!)

Everlane - I'm a bit obsessed with Everlane, the best basics

Nanushka - a feast fro the eyes, this shop is insanely aesthetically pleasing and the clothes equally so. Has a little coffee shop in too!

Mansur Gavriel - another beaut of a store and amazing sales on right now!

Have a Good Time - little gem of a find (thanks to my pal) hidden in Chinatown

Kith - very good, very cool and does milkshakes too

Amarcord Vintage - beaut vintage store with zing pieces but a little on the pricey side

Horizns Vintage - very cute and lots of treasures

WHAT TO DO

Museum Of Modern Art - so good and absolutely huge so you could spend a whole day in here. We had to queue a little but it went down pretty quickly.

Brooklyn Bridge - Last time we cycled across it which was amazing but its equally lovely walking across - especially at sunset!

Ice Skating in Central Park - got to be done!

Take a ferry trip at sunset - views, views and more views

Grand Central Station - XOXO (for all you Gossip Girl fans out there...)

Walk the High Line - really enjoyed this and can imagine its even better in the Summer, lots of good views along the way too.

The Vessel - if you walk the high line from the meatpacking district then this is at the end. Great to see and good for pics!

Museum Of Ice Cream - didn't think I would love this as it's not really my thing but it was actually really fun and you get to sample lots of ice cream on the way round which is obviously great.

WHERE TO STAY

Hotel Indigo - we stayed half the time in an air BnB with our pals and half the time in Hotel Indigo in Williamsburg which was great and really reasonably priced too.

The Ludlow - still haven't stayed her but heard amazing things and the bathrooms look insane according to Insta...

The Hoxton - very cool and very good views

The Wythe - amazing views

Air BnB - loads of cool loft style apartments around Brooklyn

My vlog will be live over on my YouTube channel on Sunday!
