‘Twas the night before, the night before Christmas and my Mam and I went for a lovely little staycation at the wonderful Middleton Lodge in North Yorkshire.... If you follow me over on Instagram then I’m sure you would have seen that I was invited to stay at Middleton Lodge for a night just before Christmas and took my Mama along too. It was my second time staying and it’s only around a 30 minute drive away from my Northern home so super handy as I was back up in the North East for Christmas. It’s also super easy to get to from London too though as I travelled up the first time I stayed and it took just over two hours on the train.
A beautiful retreat set in 200 acres of countryside in Richmond, North Yorkshire; Middleton Lodge is definitely a fave spot of mine for a little treat and some relaxation. Not only are there five different buildings in the grounds including The Coach House, Farmhouse, Potting Shed, The Dairy and The Main House, each offering different rooms to stay depending on what you're after, but there are also treatment rooms offering everything you could want for a little pamper. I had a facial the first time I visited and it was such a treat! There are also various activities you can do on site and lots to explore too! We stayed in The Dairy and our room was delightful - the bath was huge, the bed was massive (and like sleeping on a cloud) and attention to detail was second to none. They really do have everything covered to make your stay as lovely as possible. There are two restaurants on site and we had an amazing dinner and an equally lovely breakfast in the Coach House restaurant - both the food and service was amazing and I urge you all to try the beetroot hummus and flatbread if you go!
